  Meeting held January .... 1878

Opened with singing and prayer by Sister Peel.

Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted and reports and ...........were handed in.  Also receipts of grain which had been ....... by the Sisters in obedience to the counsel of Brigham Young.

 Sister Morrison then said we were upon the beginning of a new year and .......time to look back and reflect and ask ourselves the question, "how much time have we let go to waste; wherein have we come short of our duty? These, my dear sisters are most important questions and those of you present ought to be the........face herself and those that can can do so satisfactorly, (sp)for then it will be well.  Therefore, let us be diligent with the time allotted to us, doing all the good we can, comforting the poor, helping to build temples for the Most High to dwell in and living our religion to the best of our knowledge and ability, Striving to overcome our weaknesses and imperfections that the Lord may delight to help us."



Sister Morrison also wished the Sisters to visit Sister Peterson as she was laying in a very was made; that when she was taken, the Society would lose a good member and a faithful Latter Day Saint. "Sisters, visit her and do all the good you can."



Sister Madsen said that she felt well, although  ......... were engaged in a good cause and hoped the Sisters would feel encouraged to press forward to do all the good we could, that one after another was passing away and it was a lesson for us to be diligent and watchful, trying to be united that we might enjoy the Spirit of the Lord, Amen.



Sister Peel also felt well and prayed that we might do better in the future than we had done in the past and be able to help the poor when they stood in need of help.  She was also glad to be able to meet with the Sisters although there were but few here.  Yet she felt there was a good spirit and she desired to do all the good she could.



Sister Simpson felt well and was glad to be able to bear her testimony of God in these Last Days.  She was glad the sisters were so will to go..... to gather up for the poor.  She was glad she lived in this day when the Lord had been pleased to reveal himself to the children of men and make known His mind...........and might bless Sister Morrison and her counselors that they be united as the head of  one and enjoy always the good spirit of the Lord.



Sister Brothersen bore a faithful testimony and was glad to be one with the Sisters and be able to help to gather for the poor. Also, that she had been gathered up to Zion, to see temples built for the redemption of the human family.



Sister Scovil said she rejoiced in the work of God.  She always had a testimony bear. When she was without bread she asked the Lord and the next day all her wants were supplied, that the Lord was quick.... She gave glory to the Lord and praised his name, continually.  Amen



Sister St.....  felt well and was  glad to be    ...... the spirit of God.  Also that she had been able to gather up to Zion to live with the people of God; she upheld those in authority and felt in her heart to sustain those who were place in her...........



Sister Knudsen was glad she had come to meeting for she felt so good and hoped the sisters would try to come together and be united that all would feel good in doing so.







Sister ........ also felt well and was glad she went to Manti to help cook for the temple hands and was always willing to do what she could.



Sister Frandsen was glad to be here, but would be glad to see more of the Sisters come to meeting and was always glad to see the Kingdom rolling on, and prayed that the Lord would help us.  Amen

Female Relief Society ~ December 14, 1877

Sister Morrison addressed the Sisters and said as this was a business meeting we would attend to that first.



The minutes from the former meeting were read and accepted.



Then the donations for the poor, also the disbursements , Donations for the temple, and donations for the wheat.



Then  Sister Morrison instructed the Sisters to bear their Testimony and speak their feelings..



Sister Scovil bore a faithful Testimony of the Latter day work and felt greatly blessed having a standin in the Church of Jesus Christ.

Female Relief Society August 23, 1875

Meeting Held August 23, 1875. Singing "Come Let Us Anew, Our Journey Pursue". Prayer by Sister Peel.  Singing, "Oh Saints, Can You See the Dawn's Early Light."  The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.  Sister Morrison addressed the meeting and expressed her joy at meeting again with the sisters, although not many were present for the reason she supposed  of the busy times in getting in the harvest.  She then read a letter written to Miss E.R.Snow portraying the condition and labors of the Relief Society in Mt. Pleasant.  She said she felt to take an interest in everything connected with the Society.  Thought that the main cause of the ill feelings which seemed to exist some places was that people thought more about themselves than about others and if they would only remember the golden rule:, "Do unto others as you would be done by", the difficulties would be removed.  Sisters Peel and Madsen explained to the danish sisters the remarks by Sister Morrison.
Sister Peterson said that during the many years she had belonged to church, she had never for a moment entertained a doubt of its truth and she could bear a faithful testimony.
Sister Frantzen (Frandsen), Josephson and Scovil and others bore their testimony .  Meeting closed with singing "Think Not When You Gather to Zion".   Prayer by Sister Morrison

Female Relief Society June 1875

Meeting in the Meeting House Jan 29 1875.  Opened with singing "How Beauteous Are Their Feet".  Prayer by Sister Peel.  Sister Morrison addressed the meeting and said it was impossible to accomplish anything without the assistance of God and  each other.  Thought that to assist  the poor in their bodily comforts was less important than to assist them in their spiritual  welfare.  She made some remarks in regard to home industry, of raising silk (worms), straw hats and working up wool, etc.  The following petition was read and subsequently signed by ninety three sisters:

To Our Brethren  of Mt. Pleasant City.  We the Sisters of the Female Relief Society present before you this memorial.  Being much impressed with the propriety of raising up our children in the fear of the Lord, Our God.  Those little ones whom God hath consigned to our care as the sons and daughters of Zion and to whom we are accountable that they be instructed in the right way, and that this important duty cannot be consigned to the care or tuition of any teacher of any other communion than that of the True and Living God.

 We most earnestly present before you this memorial as a token of our respect fore the teachings of this Holy Priesthood which God has placed upon you, his servants, requesting that you will keep your children away from the schools of any communion outside the CJCLDS (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), seeing that we have separated ourselves from the nations of the earth to establish ourselves with the ways of the God of Jacob.  We deem this step expedient and pray that you our brethren in the holy priesthood will do your utmost to assist us in this laudable undertaking.

Sister Madsen said she feels to go forward with renewed strength and spoke of the importance of teaching little children to pray.  Sister Peel hoped the sisters would all try to set a good example before their children and thought they should be more united in coming to meeting.  She had heard many persons say that the servants of the Lord had not so much power now as in former days, but thought it was the people who had not so much faith and confidence in themselves as formerly.  Sister Simpson bore her testimony to the truth of the work and said it was her desire to do right in all things.  Sister Scovil mad a few remarks.  Emily Coates, Clarissa Beckstead, Hilda Dehlin, Ellen Olsen, Elizabeth Fowles, Annie Jensen, Julia Dehlin, Hedvig Hansen, Maria Elizabeth Lovgren, Dorthea Christensen, Annie Rasmussen, Margretta Rasmussen, Christine Larsen, Annie Oman, Carin Johansen, Mary Ann Miller,  Mary Hendricksen, Mary Christine Anderson, Cora Christensen were admitted as members of the Society.
