Rellief Society Meeting September 30, 1878

Meeting held September 30, 1878

Opened with singing  "Come Let Us Renew, Our Journey Pursue"

Prayer by Sister Peel

Sister Peel addressed the Sisters and said that she learned that Sister Morrison was called out to attend the Lake's Child that was dead.

Minutes from the former meeting were read and accepted; also donations and disbursements were read out.

Sister Peel felt to have a short meeting as only a few sisters had attended she herself felt not spirit well; said that she was always glad to hear the Report; that we were able to do something for the poor and if there was lacking something in the Society that she could help out with fast offering that was kept at her house. She always felt to go to meeting and hoped the Sisters would take more interest in coming to meeting after this.

She bore her testimony, said that she always liked to do the best she can and had that feeling  ever since she joined this church.  She never went to a Sister Meeting yet before she prayed to the Lord in secret.

Sister Simpson felt like to bear her testimony, spoke in regard to the poor; said she liked to fill the orders and give them what they needed; said there was plenty of flour in the store but nothing else.
And wished the sisters would remember when they had a little butter or a little meat to spare, there was nothing of that kind in the........  She prayed the Lord would bless Sister Morrison and her councilors  and the Twelve Apostles and every home of the members of the church and Kingdom, Amen

Sister Franzen felt to bear her testimony to this great Latter Day Work; felt greatly blessed that the gospel was brought to her native country and could have the principles embraced there. That we are to think of this great blessing a little more and think of ourselves that what is required of us a little more and should think of our duty that was required of us a little more.  Hoped that the sisters would come more to meeting in the future so that we could see and hear and thinking in all the prayers of our Society; also the poor should appreciate what the Society was ...ing for them.

Many of the Sisters bore their testimony and a good spirit prevailed.

Meeting was closed with singing and prayer by Sister Frandsen.
